You mean what led health care reform to be so important to OBAMA? That is because one of his family members died and didn’t have insurance (probably because they couldn’t get a job) and he wanted to change it ever since he was shooting hoops in Chicago just 5 years ago. And wouldn’t ya know it. Now he is president and because that one family member died he is going to cause all working people to be effected drastically.

It is important because the majority of the American population believe there is a better way to meet the needs of the people.

Frivolous lawsuits, rising cost in living and services, and hospitals compensating providing uninsured with care have caused cost of medical needs and insurance to skyrocket. We do need a change in the system.
However, what passed today makes healthcare a police state “do it our way or face the consequences” which is wrong in a supposed free society.
The difficulty was Obama bribing his congressional peer group to vote how he wanted them to and giving a big middle finger to the american people.
Now people who are already struggling to get by without assistance will have to pay for others. Welfare and gov. assistance used to be a shameful thing. The government is breeding a lazy generation and this opens us up so many weaknesses.
